1 - From the Pilarella pier to the lighthouses and back

From the historic Pilarella pier, walk along the cliffs to the lighthouses at Punta Lividonia. Enjoy views of the gulf and the Spanish Fortress on this short, easy trail, perfect for families with young children.

2 – From Via del Sole to Cala Grande Beach and back

From the western slope of the Argentario, the trail winds down through Mediterranean scrub to the wild Cala Grande, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches on the promontory; the route is family-friendly but challenging for children.

3 - From the Spanish Fortress to Cala del Gesso and back

From the historic Spanish Fortress in Porto Santo Stefano, the path winds down through the Mediterranean scrub toward the sea, leading to the picturesque Cala del Gesso, a rocky cove with crystal-clear waters.

16 - Ridge Loop

A scenic loop trail along the ridges of the promontory, offering breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Orbetello Lagoon, and the islands of Giglio and Giannutri. The trail winds through tall scrubland and holm oak forests.

18 - From the road leading to the P. Ercole Cemetery to the convent and back

From the cemetery in Porto Ercole, the path winds its way up through the Mediterranean scrub to the Passionist Monastery, nestled in the greenery of the promontory. The views take in the southern coast and the open sea.

19 - The Mining Ring

A loop trail that traces the mining history of the Argentario, passing through ancient mining sites, Mediterranean scrub, and views of the sea. Remnants of an industrial past nestled in nature.

20 - From Terrarossa to the Convent and Back

From Terrarossa, the path climbs gently through olive groves and Mediterranean scrub up to the Passionist Monastery, a place of peace and spirituality nestled in the greenery of the promontory, where you’ll find yourself surrounded by nature.

22 - From P.S. Stefano to the Argentiera Tower and back

From the center of Porto Santo Stefano, you can walk along a coastal path toArgentiera, a small, picturesque cove offering views of the gulf and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.

23 - From P.S. Stefano to Forte del Pozzarello and back

From the center of Porto Santo Stefano, the path leads up to Forte del Pozzarello, a historic military fortress offering a 360-degree view of the gulf, the Orbetello lagoon, and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.

27 - Campone Trail - Porto Santo Stefano

A nature trail through the Mediterranean scrub of the Argentario, featuring paths, ascents, and descents that connect the Torre di Capodomo to Porto Santo Stefano. A journey through silence, greenery, and panoramic views that blends nature and history.

28 - The Caravaggio Trail

A captivating tour dedicated to Caravaggio, who spent the final days of his life in Porto Ercole. A journey through history, art, and nature along the trails of the southern tip of the Argentario.

29 - The 4 Forts Loop

An evocative journey through nature, history, and memory, from Porto Ercole to the Spanish forts, passing through Cala Galera, La Rocca, and Le Viste. A journey through the sea, the Mediterranean scrub, and places suspended between the past and the present.

Beach Access Points

Trails that lead directly to the sea among the beautiful cliffs of the Argentario; these trails are already incorporated into the official routes. Here you can find the descents separated from the routes that include them.

2D - Cala Grande Downhill

A direct descent to Cala Grande through the Mediterranean scrub on the western slope. A steep but short trail leading to one of the wildest and most unspoiled beaches on the Argentario.

3D - Cala del Gesso Descent

A challenging descent to the picturesque Cala del Gesso, a rocky cove with crystal-clear waters. The steep trail includes rocky sections and requires sturdy hiking boots and caution.
