Route Description

This is one of the few trails in the Monte Argentario where more than half the route runs along paved roads, which are often busy, so it should be approached with caution, especially during the summer months.

The starting point is at the “Trivio dell’Olmo.” If you’d like to walk there, follow the directions provided in the first part of Itinerary 10. Alternatively, if you prefer to drive, simply take the road located across from the entrance to the “Filippo II” hotel and follow it for about 5.5 km until you reach theOlmo area.

From there, follow the signs for Sassi Verdi, and after about 400 meters, turn left, then follow the signs for Cannelle as well, if any.

At the junction with the main paved road, turn left to begin a steep and winding descent, which offers picturesque views but requires caution.

Continue past the village of San Rocco; after another 500 meters, you’ll see a brown electric gate on the right, with a pedestrian path next to it, allowing you to continue the route on foot.

From there, another 500-meter descent leads to the final stretch: a flight of steps that leads directly to “Sassi Verdi” beach, a small cove with crystal-clear waters, smooth pebbles, and a special sense of tranquility—ideal for a refreshing break after the hike.

Course Overview
