Relax - Beaches and Coves

Sand or Rocks?

From wide, golden-sand beaches to secluded, hidden coves, the Argentario offers beaches to suit every taste: whether easily accessible or wild and untouched, they are all surrounded by pristine nature and overlook crystal-clear waters.

“Every beach has its own sea” is the perfect way to describethe Argentario, its beaches, and its enchanting coves.
Thanks to its unique geographical location, you can enjoy a perfect swim no matter which way the wind blows: when it blows from the north, the waters on the Portercolo side are preferred; when it blows from the south, however, the beaches on the Santo Stefano side are ideal.

The terrain helps make every stretch of coastline unique, offering a wide variety of landscapes, both in terms of beach types and seabed features. The Argentario is thus able to satisfy every need: there is something for everyone.

The shifting hues of the sea are the hallmark of the beaches of Argentarina: from emerald green, through shades of sky blue and iridescent azure, all the way to the deep blue of the deeper waters.

You can choose from hidden coves, often rocky and surrounded by unspoiled nature, accessible only by sea or via trails of varying difficulty. Here, time moves slowly, governed only by the sun and the rhythms of nature.
Or you can opt for the town beaches, located within or just outside the towns of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole: sandy or small-pebble shores, easily accessible on foot or by bike, also ideal for a quick dip lasting a few hours.

The seabed around the Argentario is another extraordinary treasure. You can explore it by scuba diving or simply with a mask and snorkel. You only need to travel a short distance along the coast to find completely different underwater environments, each with its own unique character.

The Argentario is a veritable treasure trove of wonders: it’s up to you to decide which one will captivate you.
