Sand or Rocks?

From wide, golden-sand beaches to secluded, hidden coves,Argentario beaches for every taste: whether easily accessible or wild anduntouched, they are all surrounded bypristine natureand overlookcrystal-clear waters.

Pedestrian access is from the Panoramica in Porto Ercole; the beach is about a 10-minute walk away via an easy path that does have some elevation changes, withthe very last section being a short trail.

The small natural pool formed by the rocks in the center of the small beach gives the beach its name, as locals say it resembles the tubs where laundry was washed in the past.

Meanwhile,the stretch of sand next to Le Pilette is known to most as the "nuns' beach."
This name was given by the locals in the past because it was the spot where the nuns from the old Ricasoli nursery school used to take their baths.
