Route Description

This route begins at “Trivio dell’Olmo” (see alsoRoute 11 for directions on how to reach this point on foot or by car). From here, follow the signs for Cannelle and Sguazzatoio, immersing yourself in a cool, lush setting.

After walking for about 2 km (35–40 minutes), you’ll reach Fonte del Romito, a shady and peaceful spot that’s perfect for a short break. From there, take the path that runs alongside a fence, keeping to the left.

At the end of the fenced-off section, a concrete path begins, winding through springs and fruit trees, creating a rustic and authentic atmosphere. At the bottom of the descent, you’ll come to a fork in the road: here, turn right, following the signs for Cannelle.

The trail continues until it reaches a paved road. After about 1,100 meters, you’ll come to an electric gate on the left, which has a pedestrian passage. Continue on for another 400 meters until you finally reach Cannelle Beach, one of the most beautiful and accessible beaches on The Argentario promontory, with its crystal-clear waters and light-colored sand nestled between rocks and lush Mediterranean vegetation.

For the return trip, you can:

  • Retrace your steps back to the Trivio dell’Olmo

  • Or continue to the right along the paved road, which, after a short distance, rejoins Route 11, offering a longer and more scenic alternative.
