The starting point of this short but scenic route is at the top of the San Pietro hill, about 5 km from the Porto Santo Stefano cemetery. Near the clearing, on the left, there is a small area where 4–5 cars can park, making it easily accessible even for those arriving by car.
On the opposite side of the square, take a dirt road that winds through the Mediterranean scrub, immediately offering a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. After walking about 800 meters, be careful, because a barely visible path opens up on the left —this is the crucial point of the route.
This side trail, which winds through low bushes and wild vegetation, quickly leads to the picturesque and secluded Capodomo Tower, already visible in the distance as you walk through the silence of nature.
Here, too, caution is advised: the tower is in a state of disrepair and is not safe to explore up close. However, the site is ideal for a quiet break, surrounded by breathtaking views and immersed in the wild nature of theArgentario.
The hike begins at the top of the San Pietro climb, which is easily accessible by car and has parking for a few vehicles. From the open area, follow a dirt road through the Mediterranean scrub for about 800 meters until you spot a barely visible path on the left that leads to the Capodomo Tower. The trail is short but picturesque, winding through low, quiet vegetation and offering a preview of the tower even as you approach. Although the tower is inaccessible for safety reasons, it offers an exceptional vantage point for a peaceful break.
