This scenic hike begins in the village of La Soda, near the well-known restaurant “I Due Pini, ” along the road between Orbetello and Porto Santo Stefano.
The start of the trail features a very steep climb, which is the most challenging part of the route. After about 1.2 km, you’ll come to a green gate: from here, turn left onto a dirt road that winds through the Mediterranean scrub.
Continue along a narrow road surrounded by greenery until you see a side path on your left. After about a 10-minute walk through the dense vegetation, the trail suddenly opens up, offering a breathtaking view of Orbetello and the lagoon.
The climb continues on natural terrain until it rejoins a wider dirt path. After about 3 km in total—a hike that takes roughly 1 hour—you’ll reach a paved road, from which it’s just a 10-minute walk to the Convent of the Passionist Fathers, the hike’s destination and the perfect spot for a quiet, scenic break.
