Emergency Room and On-Call Medical Service

Operated by the Municipality of Monte Argentario in collaboration with the local tourist offices, they offer maps, brochures, and personalized recommendations on beaches, hiking trails, and ferries to Giglio and Giannutri, as well as booking services for excursions and event tickets.

Emergency Room – “San Giovanni di Dio” Hospital

The Emergency Department is located atSan Giovanni di Dio Hospital, in the La Madonnella neighborhood of Orbetello (GR).

  • It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and uses triage to manage patient flow based on the severity of their condition (red, yellow, green, and white codes).

On-Call Medical Service

In Tuscany, the on-call medical service (formerly known as “Guardia Medica”)
is now accessible via a single regional number: 116 117.

  • Open 24 hours a day, with detailed hours:

    • Weekdays: 8:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.

    • Weekend: Saturday 8:00 a.m. – Monday 8:00 a.m.

    • Days before holidays/holidays: from 10:00 a.m. on the day before the holiday until 8:00 a.m. the following day

  • This is the number to call for non-emergency medical assistance; operators will assess your request and, if necessary, dispatch a doctor to your location
