Founded in 1868 by General Vincenzo Ricasoli,the Corsini Botanical Garden is an acclimatization garden that houses an extraordinary collection of plants from around the world, including India, South Africa, and Australia.

Founded way back in 1868 by General Vincenzo Ricasoli, brother of the more famous Bettino, this acclimatization garden, originally known asthe “White House Acclimatization Park,stands as a fascinating testament to that era. 

The Botanical Garden is home to an extraordinary collection of plants from every corner of the globe. It offers a true botanical journey that takes us through exotic species from India, Afghanistan, South Africa, Australia, China, Mexico, and many other countries. This treasure trove of biodiversity enchants visitors with its richness and variety. The current name, Corsini Botanical Garden, pays tribute to the family that inherited this magical place, with the aim of restoring and enhancing it.

 As you stroll along the garden’s winding paths, you can admire monumental trees and rare, beautiful plants, as well as contemporary artworks created by internationally renowned artists. It is a perfect blend of nature and human ingenuity, serving as a center for research and environmental education that is also actively involved in social and educational initiatives.

The entrance to the Corsini Botanical Garden is located on Via Caravaggio.

There is no parking on-site, but a four-seat electric shuttle is available for people with limited mobility. The shuttle service must be reserved in advance.

The Garden is also accessible to people with mobility impairments and those using strollers. The paths inside are generally easy to navigate.

The only area with an architectural barrier is a short flight of stairs. This section can be bypassed or navigated with the help of the shuttle.
