The seabed of theArgentario are a mosaic of ecosystems that include Posidonia oceanica seagrass beds, sponges, corals, and gorgonians. The waters teem with life: you can encounter groupers, moray eels, barracudas, octopuses, and seahorses, while in spring and fall the marine fauna is enriched with nudibranchs, lobsters, snappers, and amberjacks. Furthermore, the promontory marks the boundary of the famous cetacean triangle, where, with a bit of luck, you can spot dolphins, sunfish, and even fin whales at the surface.
There are over 40 dive sites between the promontory and the nearby islands, among the most popular along the coast of theArgentario , the following are not to be missed:

  • The “Argentarola” islet, with its many trails and two caves.
  • Coral Reef, a shoal not far from the coast that’s suitable even for beginners but offers breathtaking routes.
  • Secca di Capo d’Uomo, a wall teeming with gorgonians, dogfish eggs, and gorgonian stars.
  • At the tip of the window, sea daisies, coral, and sea fans take center stage.
  • The Blue Grotto, with its play of light and shallow depth, makes it perfect even for beginners.

But also Cala Grande, the Maddalena shoal,Avvoltore, Cala dei Santi, Punta del Bove, and many others.
