The 2025 Feast of Saint Erasmus in Porto Ercole celebrates the patron saint of sailors with a rich program blending tradition, faith, and entertainment. Historical parades, regattas, music, processions at sea, and fireworks will enliven the town from May 29 to June 8, drawing the entire community into a charming and festive atmosphere.
Once again this year, Porto Ercole celebrates the Feast of Saint Erasmus, patron saint of sailors, with great enthusiasm and joy, featuring a rich program of events that blends tradition, faith, entertainment, and sports. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Porto Ercole under the patronage of the Municipality of Monte Argentario, takes place between late May and early June, transforming the seaside village into a festive stage.
The program kicks off with the 18th edition of the “Girotondo di Canzoni” in Piazza Roma, a musical evening that brings together young and old alike and sets the festive mood.
Saturday, May 31, is the heart of the festival: it begins with the procession of the Regata Remiera and the “Quattro Forti” Paliotto, a thrilling moment that evokes the town’s history and seafaring spirit. This is followed by the 45th edition of the Paliotto and the 46th Regata Remiera, competitions between the districts that engage the entire community in a spirit of friendly rivalry. In the evening, Piazza Roma hosts a bingo game and the awards ceremony for the winners, concluding with a lively DJ & Fun Night.
On Sunday, June 1, the highlight will be a musical performance by Matia Bazar—a highly anticipated evening that brings generations together for a large, free outdoor concert.
June 2, a solemn day, begins with Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Bernardino Giordano at the Church of San Paolo della Croce. In the evening, the moving procession to the sea carrying the relic of the patron saint is one of the most heartfelt and evocative moments of the festival. The evening concludes with a fireworks display over the sea, organized by Mazzone Mario.
The event concludes on Sunday, June 8, with the traditional Scarpinata dei IV Forti Spagnoli, a fitness walk that combines history and nature and attracts enthusiasts and families alike.
The Feast of Saint Erasmus is much more than a religious holiday: it is a time when the community comes together, celebrates Porto Ercole’s maritime identity, and warmly welcomes tourists and visitors. An authentic, lively festival to be experienced to the fullest.
