THE SCULPTURE: Marking, Questioning, Crossing (1971–2016)\nCurated by Francesca Rosi and Caterina Martinelli\nOpening: June 6, 2026, 6:00 PM Location: Forte Stella, Porto Ercole Dates: June 6–September 27, 2026\n\nThe Exhibition\nA retrospective of twenty-two works, including sculptures and drawings. Four monumental sculptures are situated at the corners of the fort’s bastions; another fourteen sculptures and four drawings are arranged chronologically across the six interior rooms, spanning the artist’s entire creative career from 1971 to 2016.\\nThe works in iron, concrete, and Corten steel interact with the fortress’s space, while the drawings on paper reveal the more intimate dimension of Staccioli’s artistic exploration.\n\nMauro Staccioli (Volterra, 1937 – Milan, 2018)\nAn Italian sculptor, he developed “intervention sculptures” in concrete and iron with a strong political character in the 1970s. From the 1980s onward, his forms became more open and curved, in dialogue with the landscape.
